ABOUT US

Dupoto Community Organization

Dupoto is a Maasai word meaning hope, empowerment, and a better future reflecting our commitment to advancing equitable and sustainable development in underserved pastoralist communities.

Dupoto Community Organization (DCO) is a locally registered NGO in Tanzania dedicated to empowering underserved and Indigenous rural communities through inclusive education, public health, climate action, women and youth empowerment, and sustainable livelihoods.

Our Comprehensive Programs

Our work focuses on building practical, locally driven solutions that empower women, youth, and vulnerable households through entrepreneurship, climate-smart livelihoods, education, community health initiatives, and leadership development.

Girls’ Education

Girls in Maasai communities in northern Tanzania face persistent barriers to education, including poverty, early marriage, gender discrimination, and limited access to essential school resources.

Women and Youth Economic Empowerment

Economic vulnerability remains a major challenge for women and youth in rural pastoralist communities.

Community Health Strengthening

Pastoralist communities in remote areas often face limited access to health services and information, contributing to preventable diseases and poor maternal and child health outcomes.

WHAT WE DO

Building hope creating lasting change

Education Equity for Girls

We address barriers limiting girls’ access to education in pastoralist communities, including poverty, early marriage, increased exposure to gender based violence and gender inequality.

Women and Youth Economic Empowerment

We strengthen economic resilience by supporting women and youth with practical livelihood and entrepreneurship opportunities.
